Award Winner

Lost somewhere amidst the chaos of sending kids back to school and juggling multiple work projects back in September, was the news that I won an award. My first award, actually.
I’ve been an awards finalist a few times over my two decades of working in the publishing industry, and winning was a lovely surprise that I somehow forgot to share.

So here it is, the silver award for cover design from the Alberta Magazine Publisher’s Association. Thanks to the amazingly talented Craig Boehm, whose stunning photo made this cover a showstopper. Even without the awards recognition, it’s a personal favourite among the many covers I’ve designed over the decades.

2024 AMPA FINALIST CERTIFICATE FOR COVER DESIGN. THIS COVER WAS QUITE DIFFERENT FROM MOST I’VE DESIGNED AND WAS A LOT OF FUN TO WORK ON. THANKS TO BILL BORGWARDT FOR PROVIDING THE IMAGE.

Awards Finalist

Earlier this week I received these certificates in the mail. While I’ve never actually won an award, I have always appreciated being nominated. And since the finalist issues were all part of a large rebrand/redesign of a long-running publication, I am especially grateful to have received this kind of recognition for my work.
